Industrial Welding on Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Exotic Materials

Meili Technology performs precision industrial welding on all types of metallic materials. Our shop manager, Frédéric Marca, is IWS-certified—an International Welding Specialist. Every critical weld is inspected using radiography and pressure-tested before delivery. We weld aluminum using several processes, primarily manual or mechanized TIG welding on a welding bench, as well as a special plasma torch—a technique that is rare in French-speaking Switzerland and ensures a perfect seal on even the most demanding aluminum parts.

INVAR steel welding

We specialize in processing so-called “exotic” materials—those high- performance alloys that standard stainless steel cannot replace in the most demanding applications. INVAR, Hastelloy, Inconel, high-nickel alloys: our Bex facility is equipped and staffed to work with these materials with the same precision as standard stainless steel. Materials processed at Meili Technology: 304L and 316L stainless steel (standard) 316Ti / 1.4571 stainless steel (high heat resistance) INVAR 36 (low thermal expansion—LNG carriers, medical, watchmaking) Hastelloy C-22 and C-276 (extreme resistance to acid corrosion) High-nickel alloys (corrosive chemical processes, nuclear) Aluminum 5083 and 6061 (aerospace, food industry) Carbon steel for specific applications

Polishing

Meili Technology has dedicated professional polishing machines in its workshop. We perform all polishing operations on the equipment we manufacture, as well as offering this as a standalone service for external parts.

Available finishes:

  • Mechanical polishing, 180-grit (roughing)
  • 240-grit polish (standard satin finish)
  • 320-grit polishing (food-grade)
  • Mirror Polishing (400-grit and finer)
  • Polishing for GMP pharmaceutical applications (Ra ≤ 0.1 µm)

High-nickel steel / Alloy welding

Characteristics:

Alloys represent a range of corrosion-resistant nickel alloys, sometimes used at high temperatures and under severe mechanical stress, classified as superalloys by the metallurgical industry, containing a vast majority of nickel.

Its use:

Its use: Alloy is used in industrial equipment and highly corrosive chemical processes. Reactors, incinerators, nuclear installations.

1.4571 stainless steel welding

Characteristics:

AISI 316Ti / 1.4571 material is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, which exhibits very good corrosion resistance. This stainless steel grade is slightly magnetizable, has excellent welding properties, and is suitable for cold forming. AISI 316Ti / 1.4571 material can be used at temperatures up to 550°C.

Treatment options include cold heading and polishing.

Its use:

This steel is used in the automotive industry, construction industry, pressure vessel construction, the food industry, petrochemicals, and shipbuilding.

Aluminum welding

Characteristics:

We weld aluminum using several processes, mainly manual or mechanized TIG on a welding bench, as well as a special Plasma torch.

Welding capacity up to 90 mm on stainless steels

Characteristics:

We perform this type of welding using three processes: TIG 141, MAG 135, MAG 136. TIG is used to ensure the root, followed by 45 to 70 filling passes with 135 and finishing passes with 136. These countless passes require significant consistency and rigor from the welder to exclude any defects in the welds, which are X-rayed and pressure-tested.
